A Peer Support Specialist (PSS) is a qualified advocate for the residents. The PSS will provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching, support, and encouragement in the time of crisis/need. The PSS will provide training in the use of personal and community resources, such as: SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, Vocational Rehabilitation etc. The PSS will assist in establishing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others.
